 | Beaches.
Cardigan Bay was the first Marine Heritage Coast
in the UK, and is home to resident bottle-nose dolphins, grey seals and
porpoise. The bay offers award-winning sandy beaches at Tresaith (European
Blue Flag), Llangrannog and Penbryn (Green Flag) - all within easy reach being just 4 miles
away.
At the beginning of February 2004 Orca Whales (Killer Whales) and Risso's
Dolphins were sighted in Cardigan Bay. An exciting but rare
occurrence! Our bottle-nose Dolphins are resident and therefore you
may see them at any time of year. Plus harbour porpoises. And
occasionally Leatherback turtles - the largest marine reptile in the world! |
